Like with muzzle loader firearms and vertical bows, the advancements keep coming with crossbows...

My Excalibur Vortex has a 200-lb pull that takes awhile to cock and reload. This is normally not an issue, but if you are going after dangerous game it would be advisable to have a sidearm or someone backing you up with a long gun in case the animal charges.

Parker has invented a CO2 cocking system that opens up high powered crossbows to disabled hunters, kids, and many women who would struggle with a regular crossbow.

It also provides the ability for anyone to get fast followup shots...
